Logical Buildings partnered with UDR to win the NAA 2020 Technology Innovation Award – announced this past Thursday at the NAA’s annual awards (virtual) conference. Each year, NAA's Excellence Awards, or Excels, recognize excellence and leadership in the rental housing industry. 

Partnering with Logical Buildings, UDR (UDR:NYSE) deployed Logical Buildings’ SmartKit AI smart building and sustainability platform at their iconic View 34 property in NYC to utilize the award winning technology to provide real-time building energy consumption via a simplified mobile application and dashboard to property management and the corporate office.

Logical Buildings installed various smart meters, smart thermostats, and other Internet Of Things (IoT) devices through out the property to provide insight into the operations, energy consumption, and performance of the building in real-time. With Logical Buildings mobile SmartKit AI application, UDR management was able to monitor building consumption, capital equipment, and control common area thermostats at the property, and the corporate office. 

View 34 is a 740 unit luxury high-rise located in New York in the prestigious Murray Hillone block from the river. With new legislation requiring lower energy consumption and carbon emissions UDR agreed to develop a sustainable plan through the use of Logical Building’s award winning technology to empower their management team to effectively execute and monitor real-time building energy consumption. The utilization of historic energy consumption through review of invoices does not allow for a proactive, real-time response.
