Property management tech leader AppFolio and resident experience platform Second Nature have announced a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing the rental experience for millions of residents while helping property managers streamline operations and boost retention.
The collaboration will integrate Second Nature’s suite of services — including credit-building programs, air filter delivery, pest control, rewards, and high-speed group-rate internet — into the AppFolio Stack™ ecosystem. This allows AppFolio customers to offer more value-added services to residents without increasing operational complexity.
According to the upcoming AppFolio 2025 Renter Preferences Report, 71% of renters say resident benefits impact their leasing decisions, yet only 42% currently have access to them. This disconnect presents an opportunity for property managers to stand out in a competitive market by exceeding tenant expectations.
“This partnership is about creating seamless, high-impact experiences that benefit residents, investors, and managers alike,” said Kyle Triplett, SVP of Product at AppFolio. Thad Tarkington, CEO of Second Nature, emphasized their shared mission of replacing friction with exceptional service through what he calls “Triple Win Experiences.”
The integration complements AppFolio’s broader push into modernizing the rental lifecycle, including its new FolioSpace™ platform and recent leasing partnership with Zillow. Together, these initiatives give property managers the tools to improve satisfaction, automate routine tasks, and focus on high-value engagement.
