Miter, a fast-growing provider of cloud-based workforce and operations software for the construction and field service industries, has raised $38 million in total funding—including a $23 million round led by Bessemer Venture Partners and Coatue. The San Francisco-based company aims to help contractors “build with confidence” by streamlining HR, finance, and operations in one connected platform.
Founded in 2021, Miter is transforming how contractors manage complex back-office tasks such as time tracking, union compliance, job costing, payroll, and benefits. Designed specifically for the construction industry, Miter replaces outdated desktop systems and generic software with a scalable, contractor-first solution.
Already serving over 700 contractors, Miter offers integrations with major construction platforms like Sage, NetSuite, Procore, and ServiceTitan. Customers report saving 20–40 hours per week on payroll alone and expanding into new regions and public sector projects with ease.
The latest investment reflects growing demand for digital tools that simplify workforce management in construction. “We’re building a platform that helps ambitious contractors navigate change,” said Miter CEO and co-founder Connor Watumull. “We want to unleash the potential of contractors everywhere.”
Bessemer’s Kent Bennett called Miter’s solution a “game changer,” adding that it removes one of the industry’s biggest pain points: managing a highly complex, project-based workforce across shifting timelines and requirements.
