Eaton to Help the Defense Information Systems Agency Expand Mega Data Center in Ohio

PITTSBURGH--()--Power management company Eaton today announced a $10.7 million contract from the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) to expand one of its large data centers in Ohio. Eaton was awarded the contract under the U.S. Air Force’s Power Conditioning & Continuation Interfacing Equipment (PCCIE) program, which is responsible for providing power quality solutions to the U.S. Air Force around the world. The project will expand dual power architecture for critical and backup power systems installed by Eaton in 2010. Eaton will also add electrical capacity to uninterruptible power systems (UPSs) and provide redundant sources of power to accommodate increased mission loads.

Eaton will provide all necessary turnkey engineering services, power quality and electrical distribution equipment for the project – which is expected to be complete in the first half of 2018.

“We have worked with the Defense Information System Agency for the better part of 35 years to support critical power requirements at large data centers worldwide,” said Craig Gob, vice president and general manager, Electrical Engineering Services and Systems Division at Eaton. “Our comprehensive portfolio of engineering services and power management solutions will help support an agile, scalable and reliable infrastructure with improved operational efficiencies.”

To expand the DISA Columbus data center in compliance with Uptime Institute Tier III requirements, Eaton will provide two large generator sets as well as associated distribution switchgear, panelboards, and transformers, along with two Power Xpert® 9395 uninterruptable power systems. To enhance safety and reliability, Eaton will also perform system testing and commissioning.

Eaton’s Federal Mission Critical team, a component of its engineering services group, is delivering this project. Eaton offers a comprehensive portfolio of turnkey services tailored for every stage of a power system’s life cycle, whether design, build or support. To learn more about Eaton’s solutions and services, visit Eaton.com/service.
