New Association to Advance Built Environment Technology

Technology is rapidly changing the built environment. From step one, with buildings that can be printed, to retrofitting existing spaces with smart technology that improves security and efficiency. Staying on top of emerging practices challenges the real estate industry’s hard-working professionals. The newly launched Built Environment Technology Association (BETA) aims to foster collaborative relationships for all those involved in the technology evolving the real estate landscape.

BETA members include professionals in design, urban planning, facility management, construction, and real estate. By bringing together trade organizations, vendors, and companies, BETA will serve as a community landing pad to discover what technologies are advancing the built environment. The association plans to take a “long view” of tech innovation and look at what new discoveries will shape real estate’s future.

The new international organization plans to launch industry studies, create a member communication portal, and provide education and training opportunities. The group plans to include all real estate-related tech, ranging from blockchain to building automation, 3D printing to big data. Additional tech BETA experts will explore: artificial intelligence, smart buildings, the Internet of Things, and new construction technologies.

The BETA platform is for industry experts, end users, and vendors in all sectors. Stay tuned to learn more about BETA.
