Local airports see record activity despite capacity and tech shortfalls

Passengers are traveling through area airports in record numbers, and freight volume continues to rise, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey announced Tuesday. In the first half of this year, John F. Kennedy International Airport saw an all-time-high 28.5 million total passengers, 1.4% more than the same period last year.
