Sphere + Motrr = CRE Magic

If you've followed CRE Apps for any amount of time, you'll know that one of my reoccurring topics is the use of 360 panoramic images in commercial real estate. For example, some of my posts on the topic include -

A Case for Panoramic CRE Space Tours
Panoramics and commercial real estate
Major props to NAI Hiffman

One reason I've always felt 360 panos have a distinct advantage over video tours is that 360 panos are easier to pull off without looking like a complete amateur.

The one pitfall of the 360 pano, was that, in order to be able to get a full-sphere panorama with no obvious stitching errors you basically had to either own professional photography equipment (a camera with a special lens, a tripod, etc.) or know someone who did.

But now, with the successful Motrr Kickstarter, not only can you avoid looking like an amateur, your 360 pano tours look professional without a professional.

Checkout just how easy it is -

The kind folks over at Sphere (thanks Dan!) sent me a Motrr Galileo iPhone robot that pairs nicely with the free Sphere app so that I could try it for myself. And I have to say, it is beyond everything I could have imagined.

For those of you who are landlords or landlord reps, this type of photography is a great way to set your listing apart (eg. exactly what NAI Hiffman is doing). For tenants and tenant reps, its a great way to remember what each space looked like when you toured it (eg. checkout what Greg Hoffmeister does for many of his tours).

You can learn more about Sphere + Motrr here. For those interesting in buying a Motrr Galileo you can get it here. It retails for $149.95, but if you use the promo code "motrrsphere" before December 31, 2013 you can save $22.
