New York, NY (September 8, 2023) — CREtech, the world’s leading community of professionals devoted to technological and sustainable innovation in the real estate sector, has announced that top executives from NYU, The Trust for Governors Island, and the NYC Mayor's Office of Climate & Environmental Justice will come together for a session on “How NYC has Become One of the World's Most Sustainable Cities” on CREtech Climate Day’s Main Stage this September 21 at the Javits Center.

Cecil Scheib, Chief Sustainability Officer of NYU, Clare Newman, President and CEO of The Trust for Governors Island and Rohit Aggarwala, New York City's Chief Climate Officer and Commissioner of NYC Department of Environmental Protection of NYC Mayor's Office of Climate & Environmental Justice will address the challenges of climate change on multiple fronts—with bold, ambitious plans to make it the most sustainable big city in the world, and ensuring its neighborhoods, economy, and public services are more resilient to the adversities posed by climate change. These panelists each play a crucial role, tackling climate change through comprehensive strategies to ensure NYC becomes the world's leading, sustainable metropolis. The session will be moderated by Schneider Electric (Speaker to be announced).

CREtech Climate Day is the only event during Climate Week NYC dedicated to the decarbonization of the built world and will take place after the flagship conference and expo CREtech New York on September 19-20. The event will assemble 350+ of the greatest minds in sustainability that are leading the way in decarbonizing the real estate industry.
